2008 new product development
Tuesday, January 15, 2008
New year, new dreams! We need to apply the brakes slightly on our new product development aspirations this year I think. We have always had ideas above our station when it comes to new product R & D. Considering what a tiny outfit we are in the scheme of things we can justifiably be proud of the huge range of products we have developed and sold to trade, and retail over the years. The list of parts we are original source for is in the high hundreds. Forget the lightweight alloy stuff, and the like that we have become famous for over the past 8 years, that's just the tip of the iceberg. I'm just as happy adding a new repair panel for a Herald to the list, and continuing the good work of John Kipping that made us the premier Herald specialist's. We like to think we know what's needed, because you tell us (regularly!), and because we use, and restore every model of Triumph we sell part's for. For instance we are at this moment not to far off paint after a protracted body restoration on one of our ex Kipping Courier vans which will replace my much missed 13/60 Estate. At the moment we are carrying over from 2007 the continued development of half a dozen new lines, with at least the same again that were started previous to last year. That's enough! If you have any bright ideas about what's needed, and not currently available for your motor, ask another trader, I'm sure they would be happy to oblige. Meanwhile I'm going to take a year out to more enjoy my Triumph's, and relax a little, you ain't seen me right!
